John Swan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home South, Flowery Branch on Mar. 4, 2026.
John Swan passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Born on December 19, 1946, in Twin Falls, Idaho, John was the son of Mark and Helen Swan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Steve Beer and David Swan.

John proudly served seven years in the United States Navy. His time in service shaped the discipline, strength, and steady character that defined his life.

He went on to build a remarkable 33-year career as an engineer with Honeywell. His work took him all over the world, something he was proud of, but what mattered most to him were the relationships he built along the way. He loved his work, and he deeply valued the people he worked alongside. Those friendships meant a great deal to him.

John made his home in Suwanee, Georgia, where he raised his daughter, Katie. Being her father was one of the most important roles of his life.

John is survived by his daughter, Katie Falanga, and her husband, Chris Falanga. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Fayth (17), Maddie (15), Jackson (14), Mason (13), and Christopher (10). His five grandchildren were the true joy of his life. He loved them very much and took pride in each of them.

At home, John found peace in simple things. He loved gardening and took great pride in caring for his yard and home. It reflected who he was - steady, thoughtful, and intentional.

John will be remembered for his service to his country, his commitment to his family, his loyalty to his colleagues, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply.

A memorial service will be held on March 19th at 1:30 PM at Hamilton Mill Church as family and friends gather to celebrate his life.
