Doris Nannette Cole Farr

Doris Nannette Cole Farr, (Nan Farr), age 86, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, peacefully at her residence in Weaver, Alabama. She was born on August 31, 1938, daughter of the late Annie Lois Turner Cole and George Thomas Cole. Private services for Nan will be in the care of Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Nan was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, David Paul "Ted" Farr; daughter, Paula Ann Farr Henson (Mark); sisters, Mary Ellen Cole Voiles and Mavis Cole Bedwell; sister-in-law, Linda Cole; and niece, Karen Johnston Wilder. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Farr Koors (Bob); brother, Norman R. Cole; grandchildren, Jordan Henson, Bailey Henson, Rob Koors and Tiffani Koors; great-granddaughter, Alexa Laurel Wright; and nieces and nephews, Pam Lyon, Lynn Houston (David), Deb Buzan (Tommy), Bryan Johnston, Mitchell Roberts (Shanna) and Kelly Lee (Kent). Nan's memory lives on through her grandchildren. She was their "Nana" and loved for her sassy personality and Southern style cuisine – especially family favorites mac-n-cheese, green beans, fried okra and chicken fingers. As a licensed Cosmetologist, Nan worked as a talented, popular hairdresser for 42 years – most of those years at La Casa de Joyce and The Chateau Salon.
Known for her "green thumb", Nan enjoyed gardening and her beautiful plants and flowers in her yard. She was masterful on a riding lawnmower and took great pride in keeping her yard looking magazine-worthy all year round. Nan loved fishing with family and friends; creating beautiful ceramic art pieces; and designing/sewing curtains and doll clothes. She was a shining star in the lives of those who knew her. Nan's journey on earth was marked by love, compassion and her faith in God. Even though she lived a full life, her passing leaves a void in the hearts of family and friends.
