Mrs. Doris Richards, 86, of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, January 18, 2026, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Dyer chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home, with Bro. Brent Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Griers Chapel Cemetery near Dyer.
Born October 10, 1939, Mrs. Richards was the daughter of the late Thurman and Elizabeth Steel Bass. She retired as a dispatcher from Ford Construction Company and previously worked at Brown Shoe Company. Mrs. Richards was a dedicated member of Griers Chapel Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of seventy-two years, James Richards; her daughter, Debra Gammons; grandson, Stan Clark and wife Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Blake Clark, and Cadie Gordon and husband Joseph; two great-great-grandchildren, Rilah Mae Clark and Ryder Brooks Gordon; sister, Pat Mabry, along with her daughters Carolyn and Vicky; and niece, Sue Haddock. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edna Hall; and grandson, Jeremy Dale "JD" Gammons.
Serving as pallbearers are Joseph Gordon, Stan Clark, Blake Clark, Glynn George, Donald Brown, and Ronnie Richards.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, until the hour of service.
