Tammy Petty Bennett

Tammy Petty Bennett, 65, of Dyer, formerly of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg. Born June 3, 1960, she was preceded in death by her parents, John Edward Petty and Winnie Maynard Petty. Tammy was a cashier at Hobby Lobby and a member of Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Dr. Cory D. Williams. A private interment will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends Saturday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
She is survived by her two sons, Dustin Bennett of Astor, FL, John Paul Bennett of Newbern; her brother, Ricky Petty of Dyersburg; and her former mother-in-law, Peggy Oakley, who remained a cherished part of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Dennis Ray Petty, Mark Thomas Petty; and her stepmother, Ruby Jean Petty.
