Nazline J. Basham

Nazline J. Basham, age 92, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Born on July 31, 1933, in Dyersburg, TN, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jim and Preeble Green Johnson. Nazline was a devoted homemaker who cherished her children, grandchildren, and all of her family. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Ridgely, where she found great joy and community. Her love for her church and family was evident in all she did.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at New Haven Cemetery with Bishop Dale Basham officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her two sons, Dale Basham of Ridgely, TN and Dwight Basham of Troy, TN; a daughter, Diane Basham Gallager of Fresno, CA; a sister, Bonnie Johnson of Union City, TN; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Nazline was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lloyd Basham; three brothers, Willard Johnson, Millard Johnson and Leland Johnson; five sisters, Maxine Norris, Mary Maude Hailey, Pam Van, Virginia Robison and Charlene Gregory; and a great-granddaughter, McCala Cochran.

Serving as pallbearers will be Calan Cochran, Justin Whitson, Adriene Harris and Nate McCoy.
