Terry Hall Pierce, 75, entered his eternal home on January 16, 2026, as family, friends, and his law enforcement brothers gathered by his side and reminisced about a life fully lived.
Born on October 1, 1950, in
Dyersburg, TN, he was the son of the late William "Dude" Pierce and Ethel Hall Pierce. As a young man, he worked for his family's business, Pierce House Moving. He often spoke of working alongside his father and brothers as some of the best times in his life. Later he took his knowledge of carpentry gleaned from his father and began his own construction business, Pierce Construction. After tragedy struck his family, his career took a turn. He was determined to protect and serve the people he loved, which were the residents of the City of Ridgely. Mr. Pierce served as a police officer and Police Chief for 35 years. During those 35 years, he saved many lives, helped many people, and witnessed many tragedies. He loved his brothers in blue and knew they loved him, too. During his 35 years on the force, he also had the opportunity to share his carpentry genius with students at Lake County High School, after going back to school and obtaining his degree through a program at UT Knoxville. During his time at LCHS, he made many lasting contributions to the school and left a lasting impact on his students and colleagues. For 22 years, he maintained two careers simultaneously. Mr. Pierce's heart of service continued throughout his life as he held other positions such as Alderman for the City of Ridgely, Lake County Commissioner, and volunteer firefighter for the City of Ridgely. While he had many accomplishments in his life, his most important one came through a voice text on December 15, 2025 as he shared with his daughter that he had asked Jesus Christ into his heart as his Lord and Savior.
During his free time, he loved to play cards and pool with his buddies, ride his four-wheeler, and make his friends laugh. Terry attended Willingham Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his dedication to his community and his unwavering service.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2026 at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church with Rev. Chuck Graham and Bro. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery.
The Pierce family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Ridgely Chapel.
