Doris Rittenhouse, 58 of Rushville, Illinois passed away at 9:15 AM Tuesday December 21, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany on October 12, 1963 to Wolfgang and Elfreide (R?lle) Rieck. She married Robert "Wayne" Rittenhouse on May 16, 1993 in Rushville, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are three children and four grandchildren. Daughter Ilonka Walter, her husband Rüdiger Walter, and grandsons Justin and Pascal Walter of Germany; Son Andreas Sauerh?fer, and grandsons Nathan and Jackso Sauerh?fer of Germany; and son Christian Bridgewater of Quincy, IL;
Doris was born and raised in Germany and was very proud of her fun and lively heritage. She had a very strong and caring personality and would help anyone in any way she could. Doris loved traveling, being in nature, having coffee with family and friends, and had a soft spot for animals of all kinds. Doris loved being an avid photographer and videographer and was generally tinkering on something. She could always be found with a camera in her hands and German music in the background, and family was always the most important thing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday December 29, 2021 at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home with Rev. Gunther Weaver officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday December 28, 2021 also at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.
