Doris (Dottie) Scott passed away peacefully Oct. 21, 2023, at age 98. Dottie was born Aug. 19, 1925 in Harrisburg, PA, to Earl F. and Margaret Eisenberger. Upon graduating from high school, Dottie went to work at the Capitol in Harrisburg.
Dottie met her future husband Cpl. William H Scott (Bill) at a USO dance in Hershey, PA. They married Aug. 19, 1945. They remained in Harrisburg for several years. They moved to DeWitt, NY, in 1959. While living in DeWitt, Dottie worked as a secretary for the administrator of Upstate Medical Center.
In 1967, the family moved to Renton, WA, until 1975 when they moved to Vancouver, WA. Dottie went to work for Meier and Frank in 1978 as purchasing assistant. She worked there until she retired in 1988.
Dottie and Bill became very active with Afifi Shrine in Tacoma, WA. They spent many years traveling with Afifi Shrine members taking them to places like Ireland, Scotland, England and Bermuda. They remained members for many years. Dottie continued to stay active with her Shalom group here in Vancouver.
In 2014, Dottie and Bill sold their home and moved to Van Mall Retirement Center. Unfortunately, Bill passed within a month of their move. Dottie remained at Van Mall until 2020 establishing many memorable friendships.
Husband, Bill; daughter, Susan; son-in-law, Ray; son-in-law, Preston; and granddaughter, Teri; all preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Sally; son, Bill; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services for Dottie will be held Saturday Feb. 17, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Columbia Presbyterian Church, 805 Columbia Ridge Dr., Vancouver, WA 98664. Remembrances can made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
