Doris Shoulders Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Proctor's Mortuary - Beaumont on Nov. 5, 2025.
Doris Marie Shoulders passed from this life, surrounded by her family, on November 2, 2025, at the age of 74.

Services are Saturday: Nov. 15, 2025, at Faith Temple COGIC 2800 Hwy 327 W Silsbee, TX. Visitation will begin at 10AM until Funeral at 11AM.
Doris will be laid to rest in Magnolia Spring Cemetery Magnolia Spring, TX.

Doris was born on May 31, 1951, in Magnolia Springs, Texas, to Arthur Shoulders and Pauline Cooper Shoulders. She was the fifth child of seven. At the approximate age of 9 years, she moved to Silsbee, Texas with her parents and siblings and attended school at Waldo Matthew.

Doris lived with her mother, Pauline Cooper Shoulders, until her mother's demise. She then went to live with her sister, Farrilla Granger, until the Lord called her home. Doris held various jobs until she felt the need to withdraw from society as much as she could. Although she never married or had children of her own, Doris cared for many of her nieces and nephews, developing very strong relationships with them. Doris loved her family and was also loved by her family.

Doris excepted Christ early in her life and attended St. Beulah Baptist Church and then moved her membership back to her original church home, New Bethel Baptist Church where she attended for a few years. In her last days, she battled illness courageously. She fought a good fight and is now resting in the Lord.

Doris is proceeded in death by her parents, Arthur Shoulders and Pauline Cooper Shoulders, sister Rose Lee Johnson, brothers Alonzo Shoulders and Leon Shoulders, nephews Todd Shoulders and Algerreau McQueen.

Doris's earthly presence will be remembered by her sisters Farrilla Granger and Helen Jones, her brother David Shoulders (Cathy) and a host of nieces and nephews.
