James Kevin Johnson 58, of Sugar Land, TX formerly of Beaumont, TX; passed Jan. 26, 2026.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, February 07, 2026, at Proctor's Mortuary 3522 Washington Blvd. Beaumont, TX.

James Kevin Johnson was born May 26, 1967, in Galveston, Texas to Calvin, Oliver and Mabel Jean Johnson, who both preceded him in death. He was raised by his great grandparents the late Alfred and Gladys Pete. After their passing, he lived with his uncle Perry Pete and aunt Linda Pete. He attended East Mount Olive Baptist Church, where he was baptized by the late Rev. I.H. Johnson. He was a graduate of BCP High School where he was an avid basketball player. He attended Wiley College on a basketball scholarship upon graduation. His love for entertainment, led him to the musical industry, where he worked for "Rap A Lot Productions" which was managed by J Prince.

He was preceded in death by his father Calvin Oliver, mother Mable Jean Johnson August; stepfather Paul Wayne August, Sr.; grandmother: Phillis Johnson; brother Paul Wayne August, Jr.

He is survived by Sons: Fredrick Brown, Patrick Johnson; Daughter: Chelsea Cormier; Aunts: Bertha Wycoff, Shirley Johnson, Vena Fontenot, Carmille Stafford, Linda Pete, Betty Pete, Rachel Pete, Lillian Gordon, Jamis Haynes; Uncles: Howard Pete, Charles Johnson; five Grandchildren, four Great grandchildren.
