I remember that Dotie always had a smile on her face, proceeded by a laugh and that she and Karol Traw were great friends. Once when I was 8 or 9 years old, Karol arranged for me to have an afternoon date at Dotie´s house. As an avid Barbie fan and collector myself, I could not believe that I was given this opportunity. I hope to never forget the moment she invited me into her Barbie room. The sheer wonder and magic that filled my young heart was and still is incredibly meaningful. She let me ask questions about all of them, hold them (even the original 1959 doll) and simply admire her collection. After that, we went into the kitchen and made homemade sourdough bread. While it was baking, I helped her assemble and pick out the furniture for a Victorian doll house she was working on. I went home that evening and told my parents that when I grew up I wanted to be just like Dotie and have my very own Barbie room.
A lot can be said about a person in his/her treatment of a child. Dotie gifted me possibly one of the most magical days of my childhood and I have no doubt she did that for many others.
I am sad with you all for your loss of a very sweet and kind woman.

I remember her laugh and how she loved to play games. She made our extended family Thanksgiving special just with her personality and embracing life as she did.
