Doris Jean Smith

Doris Jean Smith, 79 of McGehee, AR transitioned Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was a lifelong resident of McGehee and a member of Isaac Chapel Baptist Church. Doris was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, a field in which she worked for over forty years.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Smith, two brothers, Rodney Vernon Drew and Russell Drew, her parents, Moses Drew, Sr. and Verdie Jordan. She loved to fish, watch old westerns, gardening, and spending time with family.

She is survived by one daughter, Tabitha "Willie" Davis of Madison, AL, two brothers, Moses Drew, Jr., and Terry Drew both of Milwaukee, WI, nine sisters, Beatrice Ward and Dotholia "Chester" Butler both of McGehee, AR, Renee Katrina Hardy, Janine "Eric" Patton, Antonia "Dennis" Drew-Norton, Valencia Drew-Westmorland, Lajauana "Fred" Drew, Cindy Purifoy, and Alberta "Earl" Ingram all of Milwaukee, WI, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Cromwell Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at McGehee High School Auditorium with Pastor Willie Davis, Sr., officiating. Pallbearers are Corey Ward, Andreas Jordan, Ja'brien Jordan, Jerry Gossitt, Demetrius Drew, and Nicoli Crift. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.

The family has requested everyone to wear teal blue to the service.
