Doris Allen Snelling

Doris Allen Snelling, widow of Roland Alfred Snelling Sr., died Thursday, January 29 at her home in Irmo.

Born in Woodruff, she was the daughter of the late Houston J. and Mabel L. Allen. Mrs. Snelling was formerly employed with Mutual Savings & Loan in Greenwood. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood and the Carpenter Sunday School Class.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Debra Snelling Kinard of Hodges, Cynthia Griffin and husband Dan of Irmo, Donna Brooks and husband Gerald and Roland Snelling, Jr. and wife Kelly, all of Greenwood; eleven grandchildren, Shelley Webster and husband Shawn of Charleston, Chris Kinard and wife Jennifer and Jason Kinard, all of Hodges, Jonathan Griffin and wife Shannon of Ware Shoals, Amy Maxon and husband Chad of Columbia, Whitfield Brooks and wife Lori, of Greenwood, Laura Beth Brooks and Catherine Sexton and husband Brice all of Simpsonville, Buddy Snelling and wife Hannah of Greer, Ben Snelling and wife Abbey of Greenwood and Brooke Scruggs and husband T.J. of Greenwood; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild;

She was predeceased by her sister, Ruby Johnson and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM Friday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chris Leonard officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00PM – 1:00PM Friday.
