Doris Jean Stevens

Doris Jean Morris Stevens, 74, Lawrenceburg and formerly of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at her home following a long illness. A native of Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Balm Morris and Margaret Lillian Hellard Satterly. She grew up in the Chaplin and Bloomfield areas. Her career began as a waitress at the former Jerry's Restaurant in Shelbyville and the Halfway House in Graefenburg. She was a housewife and homemaker when her children were younger and worked in tobacco. Later, she worked as a CNA/CMT at Crestview Health and Rehab, U. of L. Health Jewish Hospital, Hometown Manor, Crescent Place, Maple Grove Senior Living (formerly Masonic Home of Shelbyville) and Shelby Manor. The care of the elderly became her profession and her passion. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, listening to country music, dancing, scrolling Facebook and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was a long-time member of Simpsonville Baptist Church and had attended Dover Baptist Church prior to relocating to Lawrenceburg.

In addition to her parents, one daughter, Susan Carol Stone, two brothers, Carl Bruce Morris and Charles Satterly and her stepsister, Nancy Cravens, preceded her in death.

Survivors include five children, Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Snider (Tina) of Louisville, Kathy Snider Mullins (Sam) of Ekron, Jerry Lee Snider (Marie) of Muldraugh, Michael Wayne Sizemore (Jennifer) of New Castle and Linda Berryman (John Hawkins) of Lawrenceburg; one sister, Lois Ann Curtsinger (Bobby) of Bardstown; one brother, David Satterly (Marie) of Bardstown; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2026 at Webb Funeral Home with visitation after 11 a.m. Rev. Steve Boyd will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow at Highview Cemetery in Chaplin, KY.
