Doris Evelyn Sutliff, a cherished resident of Centralia, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the age of 102. Doris was born in Centralia on April 3, 1923 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Walter "Jim" and Lovell (Telford) Crane.

A proud graduate of Centralia High School, Doris utilized her skills as a dedicated secretary at the Illinois State Animal Disease Lab, where she worked tirelessly until her retirement. Her work ethic and attention to detail were admired by her colleagues and friends.

Doris was a beloved member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, where she cherished her fellowship with the congregation. Her deep faith and kind spirit touched many lives, and she will be remembered for her generosity and unwavering support for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter "Jim" and Lovell Crane; her beloved husband, John Sutliff; her grandson, Jon Hasenfus; her brother, Lyle Crane; her brother-in-law, Bob Cavitt; and her sister-in-law, Frances Crane. Doris is survived by her sister, Theodell Cavitt; Jeff and Melissa Cavitt and Gene and Mickie Crane as well as several other nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart; step-daughter, Tamma Hassenfus and husband Toby of Louisanna; her grandchildren, Kim (Luke) Reini of North Carolina, and Angie (Frank) Rathle of Thibodaux, Louisiana; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Will, Rachael, Nick, and Jack.

A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel in Centralia with Pastor Rodger Randolph officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Centralia Humane Society, and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home located at 235 North Sycamore Street, Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to serve Doris's family. Doris Evelyn Sutliff will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will continue through the lives she touched and the memories of her love, joy, and compassion.
