Edwin Allen Sutliff, age 79 of Boyceville, WI, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at his home.

Eddie was born on March 9, 1946, in the township of New Haven just outside of Connorsville, WI to Orval M Sutliff and Dorothy Link Sutliff Cran. His parents lived on a farm on HWY Rd Q near Bolen School. He attended classes in the one room schoolhouse until it closed. He graduated from Boyceville High School in 1964. He enlisted into the US Army where he was trained as a lineman in Company C, Second Battalion, Third Brigade from 1966 to 1968.

After returning home from service he worked for area farmers until getting employed by Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN. He then met Sharon Diane Larson. They married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI on March 8, 1969. It was the day before his 23rd birthday. They were married for 56 years. Together they had two children, Kim Marie and Nicholas Allen.

After their wedding they lived in an apartment in Hudson, WI and soon after found some land outside of the city and built a home. This is where they raised their children until 1987. Ed became permanently disabled from back injuries and decided to move closer to family and bought a small hobby farm for horses south of Wheeler, WI where he resided until his death.

Ed was a quiet man. Though, he very much enjoyed spending time with family. He would not miss a family get together and he and Sharon were very helpful with his grandchildren's care. The time with his grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren brought a spark to his eyes. He loved all of them very deeply. Even if he wasn't one for words, he showed his love with his presence and joy of helping family in any way he could. He was a handyman and could fix almost anything. He spent his time doing home projects, woodworking crafts, and mechanical repairs.

Ed loved fishing and deer hunting. He enjoyed having his hobby farm which gave him plenty of deer to see. They would often come close to the house where he very much enjoyed watching them. He only hunted gun season and didn't always bag one, but if he took a shot, it was nearly always a kill. He enjoyed a nice buck, but it was never of high importance, he was happy to have meat in the freezer.

Edwin is survived by his wife Sharon of Boyceville; one daughter Kim (Glen) Lehmann of Boyceville, one son Nicholas (Charisse) Sutliff of Menomonie; four grandchildren Nathan (Elizabeth) Lehmann, Katherine (Josh) Mrdutt, Spencer and Abigail Sutliff. And 10 great grandchildren; Jamie, Wyatt, Evalynn, and Joseph Lehmann, and Ethan, Elijah, Evander, Emma, Emilia, and Ezra Mrdutt; along with his brothers Jerome Sutliff and Orlin Sutliff and sisters Walana Sutliff Ulrich, and Cheryl (Tom) Sutliff Lefstad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval Sutliff and Dorothy Link Sutliff Cran, stepfather Warren Cran, sister-in-law Annette Sutliff and brother-in-law Neil Ulrich.

Funeral services will be held at noon at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI Monday, September 29, 2025, with Pastor August Hohl officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service. Burial with Military Honors by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard will follow the service at Tramway Cemetery just west of Menomonie at E3240 690th Ave. A luncheon will be provided after burial with light snacks during visitation.
