Doris Wartko, 91 years old, of Tallmadge, Ohio was reunited with her late husband, Donald Wartko, on Monday June 2nd 2025. Doris passed peacefully surrounded by her family, while under the loving care of Summa Health Hospice team, as well as independent nurses and aids: Brenda; Kathy; Kathleen; Jeannie; Janet; Tina; and Dreanna. The Wartko family has immense gratitude for the compassionate care Doris received.
Doris was the ultimate matriarch of the Wartko family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was the center of her world. Everyone who knew Doris knew how much she loved sports, especially Notre Dame. A typical Saturday during football season entailed Doris dressing in her Notre Dame gear, sitting in her chair, watching College GameDay to hear the predictions followed by watching her beloved Fighting Irish with rosery in hand. One of her family’s favorite memories of her we will cherish forever.
Doris co-founded Don Wartko Construction Inc. with her husband, an everlasting legacy she is leaving behind. She has been an active supporter of Archbishop Hoban High School as well as her parish, Our Lady of Victory.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends; her memory will live on through the impact she made on the lives of those she loved. Doris is preceded in death by her husband Donald Wartko. She is survived by her children: Tom (Peggy); Ron (Jan); Dave (Patty); Mike (Maureen); Cathi (Dave) and grandchildren: Matt (Audrey); Jeremy (Courtney); Ben (Emma); Kristopher; Adam (Lauren); Danny (Kari); Aaron; Nick; David (Kate); Michael (Kali); Michael (Ashley); David (Ashley); Emma (Dillon); Chase (Ashley), 22 great grandchildren, and her cherished friend, Carol Kline.
