Dorotha Sandefur Coots, 76, of Beaver Dam passed away December 25th, 2025 at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Ohio County on January 6th, 1949 to the late Glendon “Pete” and Louise Pirtle Sandefur.

She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo and spending time with her friend group at Beaver Dam Village.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lloyd Coots; brother, Donald Sandefur; and sisters, Glenda Lou Sandefur and Linda Sandefur Estes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jarrod (Amy) Coots and Brian (Sara) Coots both of Beaver Dam; her daughter, Deborah (Tom) Sorrels of Philpot; grandchildren, Jacob (Adelyn) Coots, Morgan (Joseph) Renfrow, Jake Davenport, Bowen Coots, Sophie Coots, Chris Sorrels, Colby Sorrels, Zach Sorrels and Austin Greer; great-grandchildren, Jayden Sorrels, Jaxon Sorrels, Ryder Sorrels, Jedidiah Renfrow, Abraham Renfrow, Poppy Renfrow and Caleb Gilstrap; brother, George (Olive) Sandefur; sisters, Mary (Monty) Leach and Janice Hill.

Services will be held Sunday, December 28th, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until the time of service. The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. Online messages of condolence may be sent to bevilbrosfuneralhomes.com.
