GRAY, DOROTHA "Mama Dot" of The Villages Florida, passed on October 15, 2025. She was born in Kentucky but lived most of her life in Michigan. She moved to the Villages Florida in 2005.

Ms. Gray (nee: Gills for 43 years) taught elementary grades in the Livonia, Van Dyke and Utica Community Schools, fulfilling her lifelong dream of being a school teacher. She loved her career.

Ms. Gray leaves behind her daughter Stacie Hookstra and her grandchildren Sydney (Hookstra) Daly (and Hunter Daly) and Emma Hookstra. The grandchildren were the loves of her life, Also left behind are grandchildren Joshua and Kayla Gahlau and Joi Takenouchi as well as many special friends. Ms. Gray was predeceased by her parents Burnia and Bea Gray and her grandson Noah Hookstra.

Visitation Sunday 3-7pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Road (SHELBY TOWNSHIP).
