Dorothe Gean Marie Von Bergen

Dorothe Gean Marie Von Bergen of McHenry, IL passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025. She was born on April 5, 1928, in Chicago to parents Alex and Jean (DeMilliano) Kuehn.
On May 28, 1949, she married Raymond E. Von Bergen in Chicago, which was the start of their beautiful life together.
She and Ray enjoyed traveling, the cottage in Antioch, camping on the Rock River, boating, waterskiing, snowmobiling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. On their family camping trips she held fond memories of playing board games with the grandkids. Dorothe also enjoyed painting, golfing, bowling, and playing cards.
She is survived by her two daughters: Laura (James) Davis of McHenry, IL and Linda (Robert) Henry of Medford, WI; her five grandchildren: Jimmy (Jessica) Davis, Ashley (Chris) Hurckes, Kelly Davis (Kyle), Joe Was and Robert Henry; her great grandchildren: Kameron, Adelynn, Cooper, Kannon, and a great granddaughter on the way. Also survived by her sister-in-law: Virginia Von Bergen.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Von Bergen; her daughters: Lola and Karen; her parents: Alex and Jean Kuehn; her sister: Dolores (George) Kasch; and her brother-in-law: Walter Von Bergen.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Cedarhurst in McHenry, especially the Memory Care team, for the compassionate care they provided to our mother. A special thank-you as well to Transitions Hospice, and to Terri and her wonderful team, for their exceptional support, kindness, and guidance during her final days. Your dedication and compassion will never be forgotten.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, IL, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A continued Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, a Prayer Service will begin at 9:30 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
