Dorothy Edith Artese age 95, of Park Falls, formerly of Chicago, died on Thursday October 2, 2025, at Vita Care Living in Ladysmith. She was born on November 3, 1929, in Casper Wyoming, the daughter of Cleve "Pete" & Mabel (Auman) Aiken. Her early life and schooling were in Chicago, IL where she was a homemaker and worked as a cashier manager for Jewel Foods until her retirement. She married James R. Artese who preceded her in death. Dorothy moved to Park Falls in 1992 and was a member of the Red Hat Club and enjoyed fishing, especially catching her first legal Muskie on Butternut Lake. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters-in-law, playing cards, going to the casino, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her two children: Diane (Jim) Jirschele of Park Falls and Mike Artese of Winter, (5)grandchildren, (8)great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, her grandsons: Bryan and Matthew, and brothers & sisters-in-law. A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Park Falls on Saturday October 25, 2025, at 11:00am. Rev. Samuel Morsching will officiate. Interment will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday October 25, 2025, from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
