Dorothy "Dot" Barto, 89, formerly of Mifflinburg, Turbotville, and Hughesville, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at WellSpan - Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born July 27, 1935 in Muncy she as the daughter of the late Alfred Sr. and Edith (Ellis) Rovenolt. On December 10, 1954 she married Eugene L. Barto until his passing in 1981.
Dot was a 1953 graduate of North Mont High School, Turbotville. She worked at Montgomery Mills, Reilda Apparel in Hughesville, and was the perfect farmer's companion. Dot entered her needlework and homemade fudge into the Lycoming County Fair. She enjoyed doing crafts and owned show horses.
Surviving are her two grandchildren: Cassie Hall and Michelle Barto; two great-grandchildren: Scarlet and Hazel Hall; one brother: Alfred Rovenolt Jr.; three sisters: June Kline, Margaret Blakeney, and Loretta Mabus; a daughter-in-law: Mildred Barto; and her special neighbors: Dave and Delphia Lohr.
Besides her parents and husband, Dot was preceded in death by her two sons: Clifford and Douglas Barto; and her companion, Charles Eberhart.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 am on Thursday, April 24 at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Doug Schader, officiating. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
