Dorothy P. Binder, 86, of Wellesley, MA (formerly of Canton, MA), passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. Born on February 16, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, to Sarah and Barney Packer, she dedicated 32 years to teaching in the Canton School System, profoundly impacting her students.

Dorothy was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, known for her warmth and hospitality. A devoted dog lover, she had a strong bond with her companion, Jax, who passed away earlier this year.

She is survived by her children, Cindy and Michael Binder, and her three grandchildren: Harlan Marc, Rhiannon Hope, and Aja Rose Binder. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Binder, her brother Morey Packer, and sister-in-law Gloria Packer.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Schlossberg Family's Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, MA, with the interment to follow at Polonnoe Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.

A celebration of her life will be held at Temple Beth David, 1060 Randolph Street, Canton, MA immediately following the burial. All are welcome to attend, and the ceremony will also be available via Zoom.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Dorothy's honor, to the Alzheimer's Foundation (alzfdn.org)of New England or The Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts (apcsm.org), honoring her love for Jax.

Dorothy will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
