Dorothy Bishton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Krueger Funeral Home, Ltd. on Dec. 31, 2025.
Dorothy Bishton (née Czajkowski), age 84, of Harvey, passed from this life on December 29, 2025. She was born on July 28, 1941 in Chicago, to the late Joseph and the late Virginia Czajkowski.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Frederick W. Bishton. They shared many years together and created a home centered around togetherness. She is the loving mother of three children: Edward (Paula) Bishton, Edie Wendt, and Theodore (Janice) Bishton. Dorothy is the cherished grandmother of Joe Wendt, Kayla, Eric, and Brielle, who brought her immense joy and happiness.

Dorothy is the treasured sister of Barbara (the late Richard) Oosterbaan and was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph (the late Betty) Czajkowski and Ronald (Rita) Czajkowski. She is also a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews and a cousin to many. Dorothy leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Above all else, Dorothy was a loving and dedicated mother whose life centered on her children. She poured her heart into caring for them, always placing their needs before her own. Whether through her constant encouragement, quiet sacrifices, or steady presence, she provided a foundation of love, guidance, and strength that shaped their lives. Her children were her greatest pride, and her devotion to them never wavered. After her children were raised, Dorothy returned to the workforce and spent many years working at Riverdale Bank and Bob Watson Chevrolet, where she developed lasting relationships with coworkers and customers alike. She was known for her strong work ethic, warmth, and friendly nature.

Dorothy will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and was always known for joking around with those she loved. She was rarely seen without a smile, and her contagious smile brought light and joy to everyone around her. She also had a lifelong love for dogs, who brought her much joy, comfort, and companionship throughout her life.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave, Blue Island, with a funeral service taking place at 2:30 p.m. Cremation will be private.
