Love is Forever

Dorothy May Blake (maiden Pettengill) graduated from her physical body into the spirit world from her home on September 21st 2025 at the age of 91.

Dorothy lived a life of love, hard work, service and faith. She was a Mother of five, scout Den Mother, Army wife in the thick of it for 23years, Primary (church children) teacher for about 50 years, as well as an adult missionary and did work for deceased ancestors (back to the Mayflower) in the Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints. She also worked to full retirement at Tambrands.

Even with all of this, she welcomed 19 Grandchildren into her home. She would split us up and have 2-3 per weekend, splitting us by age and gender so siblings could get breaks and cousins could get to know each other.

Dorothy also spent a lot of time throughout her years researching genealogy with Roland and putting together scrap books for every child and grandchild, sets of six books each. For each picture she wrote descriptions by hand, even the duplicates to add her special touch of love. After careful calculation, it is estimated that we were given in total 62,712 handwritten descriptions by Dorothy.

A special thank you to Dianne for being her caretaker in her final years and to those who came around and helped including but not limited to her G.Grandson Brandon for shoveling and son Robert for home repairs.

Dorothy is predeceased by her Loving Husband Roland Leroy Blake, 10 siblings to which she talked to and at in her final days, a Grand Baby and Great Grand Baby, her parents Gladys and Clarence Pettengill and her son in law Steven W. Wright (Little Stevie).

She is survived by her children Dianne M.Wright; Richard and his wife Michelle Blake; Dale and his wife Sue Blake; Timothy and his wife Shea Blake; and Robert and his wife Carol Blake.

Also survived by 19 Grandchildren: Dorothy Bazinet, Lisa and Tracey Wright: Rebecca Kangas, Jesee Guay, Amanda Becker, Matthew, Benjamin, James and Johnathan Blake: Dale Jr. and Paul Blake: Aericka Darling, Adam Blake, Ashley Proctor and Daniel Thibeau: Rocky Cotton, Desirae Blake, and Emmylou Foley.

An estimated 30 Great Grandchildren and some Great, Great Grandchildren.

The service to officially put her physical form to rest is at Gracelawn Memorial Park at 1pm on Tuesday the 30th. Pall/Pauline Bearers and anyone who wants to join the precession line are encouraged to meet at Albert & Burpee Funeral Home on Webster St. in Lewiston at 12pm to drive her to her plot. There is a severe perfume allergy in the family so please no perfume to this or the fellowship meet.

Aericka Darling (Grand Daughter) is putting together a pot luck on Friday October 3rd at 6pm at/with the Church of Jesus Christ the Ladder Day Saints in Auburn for those who wish to partake in further fellowship and celebration in her memory.
