Phyllis M. Anctil, 88, of Lewiston, died September 21, 2025, at her daughter's home in Gorham, surrounded by her loving family.

Phyllis was born on May 21, 1937, the daughter of Adrien and Laurea Marcoux Ouellette. She attended St. Peter's School and graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School in 1955.

Phyllis earned her Nursing Diploma at Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing in 1958, and worked in her chosen field for 41 years before retiring in 1999. Her specialties were OB-GYN, Cardiology, IV Therapy and nursing management. She worked at CMGH, the Royal Victoria in Montreal, and the Wellesley in Toronto. She was instrumental in planning and opening the Markham-Stouffville Hospital in Ontario. She wrapped up her career at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington in the area of Nursing Management.

Phyllis married Laurier A. Anctil on October 4, 1958, and was the cherished mother of three children.

In retirement she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne at Holy Family Church, the Women's Club of Livermore, and sat on the Advisory Board of Seniors Plus. She generously donated to many local and international charities and was a champion for the poor and disadvantaged. She was a woman of deep faith, and her family was her greatest source of joy and pride.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Larry in 2010. She is survived by her children, Diane Spink and husband Richard of Gorham, Denise McLoughlin and husband Derek of Pickering, Ontario, and Daniel Anctil and wife Nancy of Livermore. She was a devoted grandmother of Michael Anctil and his wife Marilyn, and their daughter Mia Grace, Brandon Anctil and his wife Lexi, and Amanda Spink and her fiancé Daniel Rocheleau. Phyllis will also be sadly missed by her sister Elaine Mills and husband Darrell. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Donald, who died this past year, and his wife Norma, who passed many years ago.

Phyllis's family would like to express their deep gratitude for the empathetic, professional, and loving care provided by Northern Light Home Care and Hospice. Their support for Phyllis and the family was greatly appreciated.
