Gary's life was enriched by his active involvement in various organizations. He was a proud member of the Sebring American Legion, Salem AMVETS, and Salem VFW, where he fostered connections with fellow veterans and community members alike.
Outside of his professional and military life, Gary had a passion for many hobbies, particularly his love for cars, especially old ones, along with camping, building and flying RC airplanes and spending time in the outdoors. His interests brought joy not just to him but also to the family and friends who shared those moments with him.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Kay (Snyder) Blake, whom he married on December 9, 1967. Their partnership was a cornerstone of his life.
