Dorothy Ann Claggett, nee Miller, passed away on November 15, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 9, 1944, to Harvey and Dorothy Miller. She graduated from Chilton High School. She attended the St Agnes School of Nursing graduating in 1965. She worked as a registered nurse for more than 40 years.
In 1967, she married the love of her life, Floyd Claggett in California and they went on to raise 6 wonderful children. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She was truly passionate about teaching them to love and value each other. Her motto was “Be Kind.” Truly, Dorothy managed the home with love and joy and a solid touch of insanity that is part of raising a large family.
Dorothy enjoyed playing Bingo. She also enjoyed crocheting and occasionally would crochet WHILE playing bingo! She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. She enjoyed collecting angels.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Michael, Christina (Tom), Nick (Sarah), Lisa (Jeff), Patrick (Cara); grandchildren: Elizabeth, Erin, Kane (Claire), Keanu (Sydney), Keoni (Kristen), Valerie, Thomas, Dylan, Emma (Elmer), Ryan, Keena (Kinsey), Tyler (Kira), Trevor (Rachelle), Madilyn; and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Sue, sister and brother-in-law: Colleen (Lee) and Russell; as well as her childhood friend Barb, as well as a plethora of nursing colleagues who became friends as well as other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; daughter Anna; grandchildren: Nathaniel and Mae; her parents Harvey and Dorothy; sister Nancy (Ken), brother-in-law Keith; and parents-in-law Mickey and Sally.
Dorothy’s family would like to thank Dr Eiben and ThedaCare Hospice especially Lana and Nadyne for the wonderful care provided.
A funeral service for Dorothy will take place on Wednesday November 26, 2025, at 11:00am at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 9:00am until the service begins. Please wear bright colors to celebrate her life.
