Dorothy A. "Dodo" Connell, nee Brown, age 92, longtime resident of Elmhurst; die hard Cubs fan, former music teacher and teacher's aid at Immaculate Conception Grade School, former Brookfield Zoo volunteer, former paraprofessional for Butler School District in Oak Brook, IL, former music director at Immaculate Conception Parish and founding member of "Dottie's Dollies", a seasonal women's barbershop-style chorus of wives, daughters, grand-daughters, and girlfriends who sang parodies of contest songs written, arranged, and directed by Dorothy (aka "Dottie" in the barbershop world) prior to sending their guys (West Towns Barbershop Chorus) on stage during competition season. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Francis "Frank" K. Connell; loving mother of Kevin, Clare (Glen) Klock, Brian (Cammie), Terese, John and David (Beck) Connell and the late Dan (Alicia); proud grandmother of Justin, Jacob and Jesse Connell, Jayme, Danny, Matt and Jordan (Bella) Klock, Bryan (Cristeena), Steven (Nicole), Sean and Francis Connell, Nathan (Becca) and Adam (Michelle) Klinger, Brendan and Michael Connell, and Kennedy and Jack Connell; cherished great-grandmother of RheaLynn and Trace Klinger, Braxton Connell, Avaleen, Atlas and Aliza Connell, Myla Connell and Abilene Klinger. Visitation Thursday, December 19, 2024, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, December 20, 2024 8:00 a.m. until time of prayers 9:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Residential Hospice Foundation, 5440 Corporate Dr., Suite 400, Troy MI 48098.
