Dorothy Daugherty Obituary
Dot, called "MawMaw" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a member of Gallman Baptist Church and a longtime volunteer for the food pantry and other local organizations. She loved flowers, her friends, her cat Callie, and, most of all, her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Dot is preceded in death by her brother Dillard McManus and sister Merle Teasley. She is survived by her sisters Estelle Nations and Louise Knight, daughters Carolyn Bennett (Steve) and Gay Sykes, sons Mark Sykes (Lynn) and Ricky Sykes, grandchildren Tina Bennett Hatch (Royal), Melody Bennett Stubbs (Christian), Jennifer Sykes, and Scott Bennett, and great-grandchildren Caleb and Carson Stubbs.
Services will be held at Poplar Springs Cemetery on Friday, January 24 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to churches, the Copiah Animal Shelter and other shelters, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
