Dorothy D. DeBoyer, born Dorothy Martin, passed peacefully on November 1, 2024, at her home in Englewood, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dorothy lived a life rich with love and family. She was visited by each of her four children-Diann, Jimmy (Carrie), Jon (Windie), and Jay (Beth)-before her passing, a beautiful testament to the love and bond they shared.
Born and raised in Algonac, Michigan, Dorothy met and married her lifelong love, James G. DeBoyer, on December 22, 1955. Together, they built a life filled with warmth, joy, and an admirable dedication to their family. James passed away in October of 2020, and since then, Dorothy longed for the day they would be reunited. Their love story spanned 65 years, and their connection was unwavering even through life's most difficult moments.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved children and eight grandchildren: Michael, Tiffany, Jacob, Jody, Kaitlin, JP, Hayley, and Joey. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Emmy, Cade, Sophia, Luke, Remington, and Elizabeth, all of whom brought her great joy. Dorothy's family was her greatest pride, and she delighted in spending time with each generation, creating memories and traditions that will live on in their hearts.
Dorothy's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to blossom in every flower she loved, every family gathering she inspired, and every memory she leaves behind
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 11th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young-Gilbert Funeral Home, 1422 Michigan St, Algonac, MI 48001.
