Dorothy "Dot" L. Black Deyton, age 94 of Burnsville, NC, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 31, 2025, after a 10-year struggle with Alzheimer's. Born on June 18, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ephraim Clayton Black and Bertha Geneva Styles, both of Burnsville, NC. Dot was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held leadership positions in the Relief Society – Woman's Organization, the Primary Children's Organization, and was Nursery Leader for the 18-month-old – 3 years old children for many years. She had a special love for children. Dot was a hard worker in the office at Glen Raven until her retirement at 72, and at home. She loved to garden, preserve food, and spend time with her family.

"Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels." -First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
