Dorothy L. "Dot" Savoy Hotard, born on November 23, 1934, passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 90 years.
Dot was a homemaker and enjoyed having company at her house. She loved fishing, tending to her chickens and building fires, as well as going on outings, whether it be to go out to eat or simply going to Walmart. She loved her family dearly and would do anything for them. She was a safe place for many of us when we needed comfort or just someone to listen. She was truly one of a kind.
She also babysat at church for years and worked for the Bourgeois family as a caregiver and housekeeper. She also worked in the deli/bakery at Bourgeois Brothers grocery store, and last but not least she was famous for her “Homemade” biscuits.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Talmage and Ethel Watts; brother, Eulice Watts; sister, Estelle Watts; her husband, John O. "Buddy" Savoy; second husband, Joseph Hotard; and daughter, Samantha Labatut.
Dot is survived by her children, Reba Leblanc (Gerald), Tracy LeMarie (Chris), Marty Savoy, Rodney Savoy (Cynthia); her sisters, Dorris Ellis, Linda Hull, and Jackie Losch; 8 grandchildren, Dwayne, Sandy, Mandy, Sommer, Dexter, Harley, Hannah, and Justin; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 9:00 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwayne, Dexter, Justin, Jacob, Noah, and Jude.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pinnacle Hospice and The Crossing
