Dottie Campbell, 79, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully in Kansas City, MO on August 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 6th, 1946, in Hannibal, MO. Dottie was the beloved daughter of the late Claude and Dorothy Finnigan Buckman.
On August 29, 1964, Dottie married her high school sweetheart William “Bill” Frances Campbell, and they shared 44 years of marriage until he passed on July 15, 2008.
Dottie’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing strength through all seasons of life. She found immense joy in loving God, being with family, helping others and volunteering. She had the remarkable ability to connect with people instantly. Nobody was a stranger in her eyes. Dottie’s life was a true testament to the power of love and kindness, and what it meant to have a servant heart. She taught us to love big and made sure we knew how much we were all loved by her.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, and brothers Joey, Paul, Ambrose, Tom, Jimmy, and Carl.
Survivors include her four children, Glenn (LeeAnn) Campbell of Cape Girardeau, MO, Mike Campbell of Weston, MO, Todd Campbell, of Zionsville, IN, and Carrie (Ray) Schmalz of Kansas City, MO. Her grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Willis, Maryssa (Tyler) Essner, Kyle Campbell, Eli Campbell, Kamryn Schmalz, Kiersten Schmalz, Paige Campbell, Madison Campbell, Colin Campbell, Dylan Campbell, James Campbell, and Gillian Campbell. Great grandchildren Payton Castagno and Graham Willis.
Siblings: Deannie Wiggins, Bernie (Janet) Buckman, Carol Rickman, Donald (Carol Jane) Buckman, Steve (Debbie) Buckman. Sister-in-law Sherry Buckman, Alice Buckman, Carolyn Bert, and Brother-In-Law Jim Campbell.

Visitation will be from 10a-11a, followed by a funeral mass at 11a, Friday September 19th, 2025, at the Holy Family Parish, 919 NE 96th Street, Kansas City, MO. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Bill at Resurrection Cemetery.
