Dorothy Laverne Eckenrode

Dorothy L. Eckenrode went to meet her savior and her dearly beloved husband Francis on 03/09/2026. Born 08/28/1925 in Johnstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Catherine (Sykora) and Mark Stublarec.

Dorothy worked for Armour & Co in Johnstown, PA. She married Francis and moved to Geneva, OH. Her hobbies were playing BINGO, Solitaire and doing search-a-word puzzles. She loved to polka and dance. She loved her flowers. She also enjoyed decorating the entire house for the holidays with her loving husband, Francis. Dorothy had a great personality and sense of humor. She had a heart of gold and a great love for her faith, church and friends. She was willing to help you when you were in need of anything.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; six brothers, Ode, George, Mark, Mike, Emery and Steve; Sisters: Helen Pfeil, Valeria Margaret Scublarec and infant sister, Bernadine.

A big thank you to her good friends, nieces and nephews. Her favorite nephews were Carl and Donald Ellsworth and niece, Becky Ellsworth-Smock. Carl was her Godchild and the three of them were there when she needed them. They were God-sent to care for her.

Calling hours will be from 5:00–7:00 PM on 03/18/ 2026 at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Assumption Church on 03/19/2026 at 11:00 AM with Fathers Francis and Donnelly officiating.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva.

Contributions may be made to Assumption Church or the charity of your choice, or a mass to be said in her honor.
