Irene DiFabio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walker Funeral Home on Jan. 27, 2026.
Irene Christine DiFabio passed away peacefully on Monday, January
26, 2026 at Austinburg Nursing and Rehab Center. Irene was 91 years
old and born on March 22, 1934 in Glassmere, PA to Severino (Sam)
DiFabio and Josephine (Polombo) DiFabio. Irene graduated with the
East Deer Frazier High School Class of 1951 and played clarinet in the
band along with other various activities. She studied accounting at New
Kensington Business College and held many office jobs over the years
in the bookkeeping and accounting department including WKPA Radio
and Heights Appliance Store. She moved to Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH in
1965 and worked for Ashtabula General Hospital and Dr. Stryker in the
accounting and insurance departments. She then became the bookkeeper
for DiFabio's Restaurant and later worked in the kitchen alongside
family. After the sale of the family restaurant, she worked part-time in
other local food businesses. In her younger days, she loved to travel,
watch baseball, football, basketball and TV game shows. She also
enjoyed live musical performances. She was preceded in death by her
parents and her sister-in-law, Gloria Jean DiFabio. She is survived by
her brother, Louis A. DiFabio of Geneva-on-the-Lake, several nieces,
nephews, and cousins. A private family burial is planned. The family
wishes to thank the staff of Austinburg Nursing and Rehab Center for
their wonderful care given to Irene for the last 14 years and to Walker
Funeral Home for assisting the family.
