Dorothy Elder Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Ann (Carter) Elder, age 77 departed from this walk of life to gain her Heavenly reward on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia.
Mrs. Dorothy Ann (Carter) Elder born May 5, 1947, in Elbert County, Georgia to the late Mr. George and Mrs. Melve (Martin) Carter.
At an early age Dot joined Carlton Grove Baptist Church. Dot attended Blackwell Memorial High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1966, while in high school she was a majorette with the marching band.
Dot enlisted herself into the United States Army and served from September 18, 1979, until May 16, 1986. She then began to serve with the Army National Guard where she served from 1986 until 1993.
On June 25, 2024, the Lord summoned his Angels to carry the soul of Dorothy Ann (Carter) Elder to her resting place where she now joins her parents, her son Randy Carter, her siblings Willie Sanders Carter, Michael Carter, Herman Carter and Lorine Newman Allen.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memories are her daughter Norma (Tracey) Porter; six grandchildren, Tasha (Riley) Carter, Santez Carter, Orlando (Tina) Benard, Eddie Freeman, Tay (Rachael) Echols, Paige Umble; thirteen great grandchildren; three siblings, George (Judy) Carter, Deborah (Calvin) Carter, Jackie Hailey; one sister-in-law Shirley Carter; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2023, from 10:00 - 11:00am, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00am, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
We ask that you keep the Carter family in your thoughts and prayers.
