Dorothy Luetta Gailius, nee Lindhorst, 99, of Cahokia, Illinois, born May 9, 1926 in Columbia, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesdsay, August 27, 2025.

Dorothy was retired from Swift Packing Company in National Stock Yards, IL. She was former member of the Meat Packers Union Local 78 of East St. Louis, IL. She enjoyed refinishing furniture and working in the yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gailius; a son, Michael Gailius; her parents, Charles and Ida, nee Vogt, Lindhorst; three brothers, Clarence, Harold, and Willard "Billy" Lindhorst; and a sister, Mildred Mees.

Surviving are her daughters, Bonnie Gailius Johnson and Billie (Nick) Mance, both of Cahokia, IL; a sister, Irene Pulcher of East Carondelet, IL; seven grandchildren,Tara Manning, Michelle Johnson, Rachel Mance, Melissa Johnson, Michael (Emma) Mance, Corey Johnson, and Megan (Tim) Heimann; and five great grandchildren, Carleigh and Aubrey Dixon, Memphis Mance, Luetta Heimann and a baby due in November - Lenora Heimann. She was also a dear aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the funeral home, with Tim Ruiz officiating. Burial will be in Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, Illinois
