Dorothy Goethals Obituary
On January 13, 1941, John and Berniece welcomed their new daughter Dorothy to the family.
After high school she worked as a maid on the Ann Arbor boats. Dorothy also served as a nurse's aide all her life and absolutely loved it. She was proud to be an aide and won the respect of her fellow nurses and patients who adored her. Dorothy was an active member of Crystal Lake Arbor of Gleaners. For a period, she was a cake maker decorating cakes for parties and weddings.
Dorothy collected bells and loved to watch butterflies.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Bernice Goethals, brother Richard Goethals, sister Beverly Goethals; nephews John Henry Goethals Tony Goethals, and Mark Fortine, and brother in law Steve Fortine.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Helen Fortine; brother Fredrick Goethals; nephew John (Robin) Fortine, Tim (Laurie) Fortine, Matthew Goethals and several grand nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebrating Dorothy's life will be determined for a future date to be announced. Arrangements with Jowett Family Funeral Home.
