Dorothy Jean Vyvjala Hajek, 79, of La Grange, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep in Austin, TX. on September 12, 2025.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Family will be present to receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Dorothy was born on July 28, 1946, in La Grange, Texas. She was the daughter of Albert Julius Vyvjala and Minnie Elizabeth (Karstedt) Vyvjala Bell.
Dorothy is a member of the First Baptist Church of La Grange, TX. She retired after 38 years in the commercial insurance field at the Nitsche Group and prior to that, three years at the Providence Washington Insurance Co. in Austin, TX.
She is survived by two sons, Billy James Hajek and wife, Dianna of La Grange, TX, and Robby Wayne Hajek and wife, Leanna of Cedar Park TX; brothers Gene Bell and wife, Cheryl of Vidor, TX, James Bell and wife, Angie of Kountze, TX, Charles Bell and wife, Faye of Washington, TX; nephew Charles Bell, Jr. of Warner Robbins, GA; nieces, Tiffany Cianci of Sacramento, CA, Amanda Cobb of Kathleen, GA, Marissa Woodall of Vidor, TX, and Bridget Bell of Orange, TX.; eight great nieces and nephews; brother- in- law Loyd Gilbert of La Grange, TX; cousin, Carol Ahlschlager of La Grange, TX; and her God daughter Nora Kollaja Winter of Round Top, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Minnie; her brother, Donald Bell; her sister, Carolyn Gilbert; and her beloved cat Charlie.
In her retirement years she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and watching The Voice with her cat Belle in her lap.
In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter in La Grange, Texas.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
