Dorothy Harrell Obituary

Dorothy Harrell, 75, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2025. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, whose life was marked by faith, music, and love for her family.

She leaves behind her three daughters, Michelle Harrell, Melinda Escalon, and Meredith Paclibare, who were the center of her world. She is also survived by her brother, Andrew Carroll; her sons-in-law, Patrice Hicks, Mark Escalon, and Jerome Paclibare; and her five cherished grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Lena Carroll, and her husband, Richard Harrell.

For over 40 years, Dorothy shared her gift of music as a pianist for her church, delighting in playing for others and hearing voices raised in song. Her dedication to music was both a gift to her community and a reflection of her generous spirit.

She also had a deep love for animals, especially her faithful dog Marley, who brought her constant comfort and companionship.

Though her family grieves her passing, they take comfort in knowing she is at peace and in the presence of the Lord. As the beloved hymn reminds us:

"When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,

When sorrows like sea billows roll;

Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,

It is well, it is well with my soul."

Her spirit will live on in the music she played, the love she gave, and the family who will carry her memory forever. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter or welfare organization, in honor of her lifelong love of animals.
