A graveside service for Marion K. "Katie" Avinger Harrell, 85, of Deer Park, will be held Thursday, September 11, at 11 AM in the Old Palestine Cemetery near Alto, Texas with Chaplain Jim Mayer officiating. Marion passed away Saturday, August 30, in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born September 19,1939 in Rusk, Texas to William G. Moseley and Nell Thurman Moseley. Marion had lived most of her life in the Houston area and attended the Bethel Baptist Church in Deer Park. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in 1961. She had worked for many years in the Houston area as a schoolteacher and had also worked as a clerk for the FBI before she taught. After retiring from teaching she worked with special needs adults up until 2016. Marion enjoyed doing needle point and reading her bible. She was preceded in death by her parents. Marion is survived by her daughter Mitzi Kay Avinger of Deer Park and brothers W. Brent Moseley and wife Ann of Houston and Steve A. Moseley and wife Theda of Lufkin. No visitation is scheduled.
