Funeral services for Paula Denice Green Ryans, 59, of Alto will be Saturday, August 16, at 11 AM at the Weeping Mary Baptist Church near Alto with Rev. Vertis Thacker officiating and Rev. Willie Barnes doing the eulogy. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM Friday at the funeral home in Alto. Burial will be at the Linwood Cemetery. Paula passed away Tuesday, August 12 in Alto. She was born July 6, 1966 in Alto, Texas to James Lee Green and Rostene Parker Green. Paula lived most of her life in Alto and had also lived in Livingston for 16 years. She had attended church at the Weeping Mary Baptist Church and the Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served as an usher. Paula was a 1984 graduate of Alto High School. She had worked as a CNA at the Rusk State Hospital as well as several area nursing homes. She had also worked with her husband in the lawn care business when living in Livingston, and as a substitute in the Alto School District. She was a member of the Camden Trailblazers as well as the Alto Trail Riders. She loved her grandchildren and the elderly. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband Larry Ryans, an infant son, infant grandson and niece Nakeshia Green and many other relatives. Paula is survived by daughters Chun Green of Alto, Tamara Green of Alto, son Cordell Green of Alto, brothers Vern Green of Alto and Willis Green (Rosie) of Alto, sisters Rosie Skinner of Alto, Peggy Kaiser (Colbert) of Alto and Pamala Black of Alto, sister-in-law Jean Hill (William) of Livingston, and grandchildren LaCailyn Green, Keithan Reescano, JaCory Green, Amaya Reescano and JaZariah McClelland. Pallbearers will be Tedarius Black, Keithrick Plattenburg, Anfernee Black, Josh Skinner Jr., Kern Green and D'Anthony Richards. Nephews and great nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
