Dorothy Harris

HARRIS, Deaconess Dorothy Cosby, was the youngest of three children, born on January 12, 1924, in Louisa, Va., to the late Charlie and Jesse Cosby. Her loving husband, Deacon Harry Harris; and son, Harry Jr., preceded her in death. Her early education was obtained in Louisa County. God called her home for sweet rest on June 14, 2010. She leaves to cherish her loving memory a loving daughter, Evangelist Gloria Yates; a brother, Deacon James Cosby and wife, Rev. Mary Cosby; five grandchildren, Elder Cordell Yates and wife, Devin, Shonda Harris-Muhammed and husband, Demetrius, Shelia Phillips and husband, Tory, William Coleman and wife, Denise, Clifford Ruffin and wife, Cynthia; nine great-grandchildren; an aunt, Bessie Marrow and husband, Eddie; three devoted goddaughters, Barbara Dandridge, Darryl Holt and Gladys Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 18, at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services, conducted by Evangelist Gloria H. Yates, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 19 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 864 Pendleton Rd., Mineral, Va. 23117. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
