Dorothy Ann Hunter, age 90, of East Haven, joined her beloved husband David Hunter in eternal rest on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Born February 14, 1934 in Old Forge, Pennsylvania to Helen (Perko) and Frank Nispon. Sister of Claire (John) Burns and Regina (Herman) Holtzman. She met David, the love of her life, at a carnival and married him upon his return from the Korean War in 1954. Dedicated mother of Doreen Hunter of Virgina, the late Donna Tucker of Hamden and Denise (Mike) Trofa of Woodbridge. She retired from her waitressing job in 1996 to enjoy bargain hunting, gardening and reading full time. Survived by her grandchildren, Shayne (Carly) Tucker, Morgan (Leanne) Tucker, Kyle Tucker, Amanda (Robert) Pike, Adam Trofa, Denali Hunter and Sierra Hunter as well as great-grandchildren Mason Tucker, Lily Tucker and Rebecca Pike. Predeceased by one grandson, Ryan Tucker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Saint Bernadette's Church, 385 Townsend Avenue, New Haven on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. There will be no calling hours. Condolences may be expressed at hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
