Dorothy Jean Spear Hunter, age 93 of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday at the Medical Center. She was born in Dubre, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Edith Murray Spear and was the widow of the late SFC Samuel F. Hunter. She is also preceded in death by a son, Samuel F. Hunter Jr., sister, Louise Anderson, a brother Carl Spear and a granddaughter, Jennifer Dawn Hudson. Dorothy was a graduate of Marrowbone High School and retired from Sears after 25 years of service and was a member of Marrowbone Baptist Church. She was a member of the Alpha Theta Chapter 662 for 62 years. Dorothy's hobbies included sewing, gardening, traveling and was a devoted University of Kentucky Basketball Fan. GO BIG BLUE!!!

Daughter; Melody Kitchens of Bowling Green. A sister; Lorene Smith of Glasgow. Grandchildren; COL. Samuel Hunter Ill United States Army Retired (Angela) of Glasgow, Sarah Hunter Smith (Denny) of Stone Mt, Georgia, and LCDR Nathaniel Hunter United States Navy Retired (Adriana) of Oahu, Hawaii. 5 great grandchildren; Sam IV, Noah, Turner, Jonah, and Kat. A daughter-in-law, Amy Pace Hunter of Stone Mt., Georgia.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 7 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel.
