Dorothy Kate (Dot) Allmond Jarrell, age 94, passed away January 21, 2026 at her home in Screven County after an extended illness.
Born on November 27, 1931 on the Jenkins County Emanuel County Line. She was a graduate of Millen High School in 1948. Soon after graduating she went to live at the Mulkey Hospital in Millen to train as a nurse. Living on the farm for the last 70 plus years she had a love of gardening and tending to her flowers and yard.
She was a faithful member of Middle ground Baptist Church until her health failed.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert Allmond and Annie Laura Oglesby Allmond Wiggins; brother Bob Allmond and sister Jean Diggs.
She leaves behind her loving children Mary Lana J. (William) Scott, and Lannie S.(Stacye) Jarrell; grandson Bradley Jarrell, niece Nicole Moore, nephews Derrick Diggs, Mike, Scott, Todd and Drew Allmond; brother in law Jim Diggs, and sister in law Myra Allmond. Also her special family of care givers: Lisa, Debra, Angie, Deloris, and previous care givers; Gina, Evelyn and Wanda and her special friend Billie Boykin.

Visitation will be Saturday January 24, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Thompson Strickland Waters Joiner Anderson Chapel. Interment will follow at Middle ground Baptist Church Cemetery.
Thompson Strickland Waters Joiner Anderson Chapel are in charge of all arrangements.
