Dorothy Kemp Obituary

Dorothy was born on October 12, 1925 in North Hampton, Illinois to Claude and Jessie (Aman) Hill. She married Ralph E. Kemp on April 4, 1942 in Washburn, IL. He preceded her in death in 2019. Also preceding her in death are her parents and two brothers, Vernon and Charlie Hill.
Surviving are her son, Ronald (Karen) Kemp of Morton, IL; her daughter, Jane (Gary) Huggins of Chillicothe; her grandson, Andrew (Renee) Kemp of Jacksonville, FL; her granddaughter, Katherine (Aaron Armentrout) Higus of Marquette Heights, IL; and three grandchildren, Johnathon Higus, Mia-Avalyn Kemp and Orion Kemp. Also surviving is a very special person in Dorothy's life, Megan Stenzel, whom Dorothy thought of as family.
Dorothy had a beauty shop in her home for over 20 years. She also enjoyed cross-stitching and visiting with friends and family. She was amazing cook and was known for her potato salad, dressing and piecrusts!
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2pm at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to Evergreen Senior Living of Chillicothe. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
