Dorothy "Jean" Simms Keyes , 93, reached out and took the hand of her heavenly father to fly away on January 14, 2026. Dorothy was born in Smyth County, Virginia to the late Albert and Flora Robinett Simms.

Dorothy, who was more commonly know as Jean, has joined her beloved husband Roger who she was married to for 68 wonderful years and their precious son Willis, Jr. Jean is survived by her grandson Jackson Keyes, who was the light of her eye; sister Ruth Bishop (Jim); and special friends, Kathy, Jennifer, Mike, Brendon, Bob, and Craig.

Those who knew Jean knew how active she was. She volunteered with meals on wheels and at nursing homes. She taught Sunday school for 34 years and was a member of Prevail Church.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home and Crematory, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, on Tuesday, January 20, from 10 to 11a.m with a service to celebrate her life immediately following at 11a.m. Jean will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk next to her husband following the chapel service.
