Dorothy F. Lipps, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed on November 23, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on December 3, 1929, in Cincinnati, Dorothy was a beacon of love and care in her community and family.
Dorothy, a life time parishioner at Our Lady of Victory Church and devoted much of her professional life to serving in the cafeteria at Our Lady of Victory School. Dottie touched the lives of many with her warm smile and nurturing spirit. Her education began at Our Lady of Victory School and continued at Seton High School, foundational experiences that shaped her caring personality. She was known for her selflessness, constantly placing the needs of others before her own.
Throughout her life, Dorothy found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for cleanliness and a fervent love of prayer, often seen with a rosary in hand. Dorothy derived immense happiness from baking, especially her beloved coffee cakes and lots of whipping cream. She was also an avid sports fan who proudly supported the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and Notre Dame Football.
Dorothy's legacy is carried on by her devoted family. She was the proud mother of Larry Lipps, Steve (Gayle) Lipps, Richard Lipps, Ron (Kathie) Lipps, Cindy (Mike) Willett, Mary (John) Milam, Shari (Tom) Bacon, and Tina (Doug) Reddington. Her devotion extended to her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply: Brian (Stephanie), Michael, Jason (Carrie), Jamie (Ben), Katie (Phil), Lauren, Brad (Lauren), Ronnie (Maggie), Kevin (Erin), Tommie (Amanda), Brian (Kristina), Craig (Kristen), Michael (Maria), Taylor (Anna), Tyler (Kourtney), Allison (Adam), Justin (Abri), Emily (Nick), Danielle (Mitchell), David, Sarah, and Elizabeth. Dorothy was blessed to be a great-grandmother to Andrew, AJ, Hannah, Gideon, Bellamy, Cameron, Wyatt, Tricia, Robby, Hannah, Leah, Charlie, Emma, Jacob, Corey, Sydney, Katie, Caleb, Owen, Norah, Mitchell, Carter, Levi, Weston, Josie, and Riley.
She was also a cherished sister, survived by Mary Busse, Bernie Frolicher, Gert Polking, and Ann Bovaird.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence A. Lipps, her parents, John and Marie Hauser, and her siblings Joe Hauser, Wally Hauser, Al Hauser, Dee Miller, and Rosie Fischesser. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the honor of knowing her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Dorothy F. Lipps will be remembered not only for the love she shared but for the countless lives she enriched through her kindness and devotion.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 1st at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. from 5-8PM. Funeral mass will be on Monday, December 2nd at Our Lady of Victory Church at 11AM.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, Council on Aging, Our Lady of Victory or your charity of choice.
